Youth/Small Wheels Friendly, Vintage/Modern Friendly.

*New for 2026: Flag Marking for Events and Signature Sunday Flag Sessions.

Signature Sundays:

-Riding with buddies and others on Sundays.

-Working on what you need/want using a purposeful training system.

-Having Mike's free guidance and instruction.

How it works:

Come with your regular riding buddies (or meet others here) and receive a handful of flags. Go out and make a section (or sections) that target what you want to be able to achieve that day. Then Mike comes out and assists you in achieving it. Purposeful.Fun.

What we envision Signature Sundays to look like:

Riders all over the property making various unique and challenging Sections. Mike going around as 'Roaming Instructor' helping individuals and groups with tips and techniques for their challenges.

Riders switching around and trying each other's sections. Having some fun and putting your name on the section you or your group has made...and enjoying the banter and 'competition' that comes along with it. Like: "I rode your Section JoeSchmoe, and had no problem with that tight turn at the bottom of the hill you put in!" or perhaps "That was a ball buster Schmoe! Took me 3 tries but I got it!"

You get the picture, lots of fun whilst learning.

Storing your bike here for Winter Riding is free for Season’s Pass Holders. Contact Mike for space availability.

New Event Flag Marking System FAQ's: Three Flag Colors-Two Lines

*Why are you adopting this as your new system?

Ribbon marking is out of control. It was originally adopted to provide benefits of new layers of fairness and clarity. It's no longer providing either. Organizers are tasked with using inordinate amount of ribbon in order to close up every possible 'dodger' crack. Worse yet, riders are focused on seeking out the ‘dodger’ cracks. This trend has ended up compromising real riding challenges that are intended in a Section. I feel going back to the basic Old School System, is the remedy.

*Did you come up with this yourself?

Heck no. It's the marking system we rode back-in-the-day, and is the way they still ride in Europe. It’s simple. It works.

*Will I be confused if I've never ridden a trial (or practiced) without ribbon marking tape?

Absolutely not. It's simple. Your mind's eye may take some adjustment at first to connect the dots for your boundary...,but it's super-clear once riders get accustomed to seeing the Flag Marking system.

*How do I know where to go?

Flags show the boundary line (and replaces the tape). Riders will take a look at the Section and connect-the-dots (visually) to know their boundaries on the left and the right according to the Class they've signed up for. This is called 'Line of Sight Boundary Marking'.

*What are the colors?

Blue, Red, and Yellow. Two Lines, Three colors. Yellow gives more real estate for the Beginner/Novice Class (outside Blue or Red in spots) for those who have signed up for Beginner/Novice.

*I'm puzzled and can't picture a Section with no ribbon. Can I go wrong once I’m in the Section?

Not hardly. It's simple. Just stay inside the Flags for your class. If you find yourself outside the flags, or outside the visual line that would connect the flags...that's where it’s wrong. (Out-of- Bounds Failure-5pts.)

*How many Sections and Loops will be in your new style Trials in 2026?

Events will be 8-12 Sections, 3 or 4 Loops.

*How will I keep my Score?

Traditional Scoring 0,1,2,3,5. Lowest Score wins.

*Will I sign up for a Class?

Yes. For one of these two lines: Beginner/Novice or Intermediate/Advanced

*Won't you have an Expert Class?

There are always obstacles here for the Experts and they can include them in their ride in each Section when making their ride plan within Blue and Red. They can ride any obstacles in the Section and challenge themselves-even if they see a way around an obstacle. I encourage it. What the upper level riders cannot do...is use the extra real estate delineated by the yellow markers....which are provided for the Beginner/Novice Line.

*You say there are no markers within the Section (neither gate markers, nor class markers). How will I know what my Ride Line is? for my Ability Level? How will I know where to go?

In each of the 8-12 Sections, Riders must plot their own line and find a way from start to finish whilst remaining within the boundaries of their color. Intermediate/Advanced inside Blue and Red Flags only. Beginner and Novice are given extra room with a yellow outside a Blue on the Left (where appropriate) or outside a Red on the Right (where appropriate).

Feel Free to contact us with any further questions (about anything) .Looking forward to this system in 2026 and ‘Just Ride’.
