The Riding
*Continuing in 2025: Tryals Park Season’s Pass Holders are welcome to come and ride the course for practice and training anytime, as they wish. We will be open for day riding (or under the lights) 7 days a week. We do ask that you check with us for Sunday riding times (as we typically open later that day). The sections will always be designed for all Trial bikes. Youth/Small Wheels Friendly, Vintage/Modern Friendly.
*Continuing in 2025: If you come alone and would like a riding partner, I will try to ride with anyone who shows up. Always happy to share the fun or offer riding tips if desired. Wednesday is an Official Practice Day (Sunday for Winter Riding) so Tryals Park riders can plan a ride when they know others (besides myself) will be riding.
Course Info
*Continuing in 2025: For the best of both worlds- In addition to the Trial Events we will also continue Marathon Trial format for 2025 for those who want to ride a mock trial and keep scores throughout the season between the trials events. With the opportunity to ride marked sections for practice, training, scorekeeping or Marathon-Style competition- Season’s Pass Holders can mark their improvements. Thanks to all who have given your input over the last few years and encouraged us to continue this system where you can pick your own riding dates, times, (and weather) on our ever-marked and changeable 8-10 section course.
*Continuing in 2025: The Course Section marking is designed to be as fun as it is challenging. A lot of thought goes into the Sections for serving different rider goals. Our system of having the ever-marked, ever-changeable Sections is fine-tuned so that riders will have a measured way to improve their abilities--Or riders can come for fun without any particular goal in mind- and ride any way you like. The sections will always be very generous with multiple ways of riding-using the marking or not. There are many possibilities of creating a unique line by adding any (or many) of the unmarked obstacles within the taped boundaries too. Finding a way around them is always an option as well. My effort is always at keeping the marking simple and keeping ALL skill levels in mind.
Events & Tryals Park Series
*New for 2025: Thank you for your input on what you would like the Tryals Park to offer. This Season we will have a 3 Event Series with Year-End Awards (and Rewards) served up at a Season’s-End Fun Ride Bash in November. In addition we will continue the Drawings at each Event (started at the end of last Season) for the opportunity to win something cool if you’re the Day’s Lucky Rider.
Note: We have moved resources around due to adding the 2025 new perks. As such we are asking all Adult Event Riders (Season’s Pass Holders as well) to contribute the $20 Sign Up at Events this year. (Youth always Free).
*Continuing in 2025: All our Trials are on Sundays with Noon Start. Rider's meeting just prior. Early and Late comers (who are not riding for points) are also welcome, just get together with me for 'lay of the land' if you miss the Rider's meeting. Event Schedule below.
*New for 2025:This Season we are partnering with both EVT and D4 Clubs to host one of their events here.(Dates to be determined). Please check out their websites for specific club details, their start times, and their particular sign-up fees.
Clinics
*New for 2025: Many of you have said that you would like a Clinic Day or days with some Instruction and Practice together with others on the same day.We have the unique opportunity here to do just that on the marked course.(Date(s) and Clinic Skills that will be offered- to be announced). Clinic(s) will be free for Season’s Pass Holders and open to others as well for Clinic fee.
Winter Riding with Bike Storage
*New for 2025: Thank you again for input on what you would like the Tryals Park to offer. You’ve said you want to ride on winter days when weather allows, but you don’t want to trailer your bike here in cold temps on salty roads.Done!Storing your bike here for Winter Riding is free for Season’s Pass Holders. Come ride any days you wish. Scheduled practice and fun rides every Sunday Nov-April (weather permitting) and Bonus: Anyone wishing to Winter Ride with us can have a discount on a pair of Jitsie Glow Gloves.
Camping!
*New for 2025: It's ALL In! Camping areas are in and couldn’t be nicer… even if we do say so ourselves. There’s just somethin’ about it. Views are beautiful of the manicured Riding/Obstacle Course, the Pond, and the Surrounding Valley. Picnic table and Fire pit rounded it out last season. We are adding more creature comforts all the time to make your time here special, peaceful, comfortable and private. The Landing has electric and water. Rustic Barn has extra Scoreboard for impromptu competitions, tables & chairs, two futons, electricity, fans,mini-fridge w/ bottled water (& you can even sleep next to your bike in the barn if you like).Day Use Riders also welcome to use the Barn as HQ –unless someone has already taken occupancy for an overnight. There’s a solar shower tent (12 Gallons (!) for that nice, long, after-ride shower) and a bio- toilet tent for your convenience. We're using HipCamp.com as the platform for reservations for the three "officially" designated spots but there's more camping room here if those spots are taken. Please call us if you are attending an event or are a Season's Pass Holder needing camping if you find the sites are booked.
To Reserve one of the three officially designated Sites: click here or go to HipCamp.com. (search for: Tryals Park Camp and Obstacle Course (zip code 13092))
Family Reunion Package
*New for 2025: We had one Season’s Pass Holder ask us last year about possibly holding a Riding & Camping Family Reunion here in 2025 and inquiring about what kind of group discount for non-pass holders in their fold. What a great idea! We’re game! The idea was that a family of all ages (with both riders and non-riders) could have a trials-centered weekend of fun and camping here. The family’s riders could enjoy the Trials Paradise here, while the family’s non-riders could either take instruction on a rental bike if they wished- or go find their own fun in the nearby towns.Being located in the Finger Lakes there is much to do in the surrounding area for all ages and interests. It sounds like a fun time and we’d be glad to be your location for this type of camping get-together. An Instruction package with Mike or Aaron could be part of the package. We could conduct a Family Trial here for your group as well- or we could leave you to your own devices. Possibilities are endless now that we’ve added the camping spots here for longer stays- and possibilities continue to grow each Season with your suggestions. Thanks!Feel free to contact us about your ideas for fun here at the Tryals Park.(Trials-Centered Weddings and Trials-Riding Honeymooners welcome as well! Why not? )
