SUPERIOR PROTECTION AT MINIMAL WEIGHT
The Jitsie Polycarbonate HT1 helmet exceeds ECE R-22-05 standard. With a weight of only 1100g (+-50g), it is one of the lightest polycarbonate helmets on the market.
Construction Note: We get a lot of questions about the differences in Jitsie's 2024 Polycarbonate helmet in this listing vs. Jitsie's new 2025 ABS material helmet. It's a tough call as each material has its pluses and minuses. The bottom line: Both are excellent helmets constructed to exceed safety standards.
While ABS is slightly less expensive, yet the helmet is slightly heavier. Polycarb is more $ and lighter. Jitsie reports that the new ABS helmet has "increased airflow" although we have as yet tested the new helmet in comparison with the venting of the 2024 Polycarbonate helmet.
In our opinion, both are good, safe helmets with adequate venting at an affordable price. (note: for those with a larger budget, Airoh is Mike's helmet of choice)
For those with more interest in the difference between the two materials used in Jitsie helmets, we found this on the internet. Though not exactly aimed at Trials Helmets is a good description of some of the main differences in the materials themselves.
